Cars Not Welcome at Campus Apartments Rentals Salt Lake City

As a follow up to my article on rentals Salt Lake City I found this and wanted to link to it.

If you live in campus apartment rentals, Salt Lake City and some other states may not allow you to have a car there.

More and more colleges are promoting sustainability and in an attempt to ge\t students to walk or ride bicycles they are either not allowing cars or theey are charging steep fees for parking permits.

“A lot of people are used to the convenience of being able to get in their car and go wherever,” Olivia Hails said, noting that some students will drive to campus from their apartments four or five blocks away. “I think it’s ridiculous.”

Freshmen at some colleges are being offered deeply discounted bikes for purchase if they agree not to bring a car to the campus for 2 years according to the folks at https://www.insidehighered.com/news/2011/06/27/colleges_discourage_students_from_driving_cars_to_campus_promote_bikes
